Our Founder, Dan Boaz: The Man, the Mission, the Methodology
An entrepreneur, innovator, and logistics expert, Dan Boaz has been involved in the transportation industry for more than thirty years. As the founder of SameDayAir.com and its parent company AirFreight.com, Dan has been on the cutting edge of how third-party logistics companies do business today. Starting as a UPS driver in 1985 and later moving into several management roles has given Dan the unique perspective of understanding what both drivers and managers need to be successful.
After leaving UPS in 1994, Dan spent several years as a district manager for Associated Global Systems, and then a decade as president of Vital Express. During this time, he watched the rise of the Internet and quickly saw what it could offer for businesses. Dan knew that logistics companies were struggling to connect with customers and provide convenient, seamless service. Realizing that the Internet could solve these challenges and bolster the transportation industry, he began developing plans for a new type of delivery company.
These plans came to fruition in 2007, when Dan founded SameDayAir.com’s parent company, AirFreight.com. The new company quickly began changing how third-party logistics providers used the Internet and other advanced technologies to improve the entire shipping experience and increase customer quality and convenience. Instead of purchasing its own vehicles and aircraft, AirFreight.com would coordinate other companies’ transportation assets to meet its customers’ commitments. This made it easier to plan and execute complete shipments for large numbers of customers with exceptionally high rates of safety and success. Thanks to innovative ideas like this and hard work, Dan quickly grew the company from a small startup to a multimillion-dollar logistics giant that now supports businesses large and small across many sectors of manufacturing, retail, aerospace, and the energy sector.
It was under his watch that AirFreight.com bought a host of domain names, including HotShotTrucking.com, SameDayAir.com, and ExpeditedFreight.com. In fact, Dan has amassed over 3,000 Internet domains related to transportation, and this is part of a very deliberate strategy to drive web traffic to his expedited shipping companies. “I spend a lot of time online, pursuing domains that will help my companies now and in the future,” explains Dan. “I try to see where the transportation market is going and how customers might buy these services differently.” He also picks up certain domain names when they expire or buys them if the price is right. By being everywhere on the Web, the company remains easy to find while reaching a wider range of customers. With so many shipping domains available, it also makes it easy to coordinate distinct shipping services for many different kinds of clients.
Today, Dan remains at the helm of SameDayAir.com and continues to improve the company through advanced technology and innovative strategies. Dan is committed to continuous improvement and growth through innovative ideas, allowing SameDayAir.com and AirFreight.com to continue expanding, thriving, and successfully providing quality shipping for all its business partners.
